For most men's adult sneakers: UK size + 1 = US size. For Dunks, Air Force 1s and most Jordans, buyers with standard-width feet typically size down half from their true-to-size. New Balance runs closest to true; ASICS runs slightly short. Stick to the retailer's own size chart where it conflicts with this.

Women's
Women's US is roughly UK + 2.5. So a UK 5 is a US 7.5 in women's. Most Indian retailers don't carry dedicated women's sizing on lifestyle sneakers (Dunks, AJ1s, Sambas come in "men's" sizes that extend down to UK 3–4, which is where women's feet usually land). If you're buying what's listed as a "men's" UK 5, that's a women's US 7.5.
Brand-specific notes
Nike & Jordan
Nike has historically run a touch long in most silhouettes, with two canonical exceptions:
- Dunk Low / Dunk High: Most buyers with standard-width feet size down half from true-to-size. A true UK 9 typically wears a Dunk in UK 8.5. Wide-footed buyers should go true-to-size.
- Air Force 1: Runs about half-size long; size down half.
- Air Jordan 1 (High / Mid / Low): Runs true-to-size for most. Some find the AJ1 High a touch loose in the heel at true size but rarely enough to justify sizing down.
- Air Jordan 4: Runs true-to-size. Sizing down is a mistake.
- Air Max 1 / 90 / 95 / 97: True-to-size.
- Pegasus / Vomero (running): Size up half for running-style toebox clearance.
adidas
adidas runs close to true in most lifestyle silhouettes. The quirks:
- Samba OG: Narrow toebox. Wide-footed buyers should go half up; most go true.
- Gazelle / Campus / Spezial: True-to-size.
- Superstar: True-to-size.
- Forum Low / Forum High: Runs slightly long; consider half down.
New Balance
NB runs the closest to "true" of any brand we stock. The 550 / 530 / 2002R / 9060 / 990 all wear true-to-size for most buyers. The exception is the 327, which runs half-size short — size up half.
ASICS
ASICS runs about a third of a size short across the lifestyle line (GEL-1130, GEL-NYC, GEL-Lyte III, Onitsuka collaborations). Most buyers go true-to-size and live with a snug fit; some size up half. On the running side (GEL-Kayano, Nimbus, Novablast), runners go true or half up.
Onitsuka Tiger
Mexico 66 runs small and narrow. Size up half from your true-to-size; wide-footed buyers size up a full size. This is the single most consistent "wrong size" complaint we've seen on Indian returns.
SNKRS India vs Indian Shopify retailers
SNKRS India lists sizes in US (men's), matching Nike's default. Every other Indian retailer — Superkicks, Crepdog Crew, Limited Edt, Mainstreet — lists UK. If you're raffling both SNKRS India and the Indian retailer for the same pair, make sure you're entering with the same foot size converted correctly. A UK 9 is a US 10; entering your SNKRS raffle as UK 9 and your Superkicks raffle as US 9 is the same error dressed up two ways.
What to do if you're between sizes
Buy your longer foot. Go to the size chart on the retailer's site (every one of them has an official size chart on the product page). Your measurement in centimetres is the least-lying number. Choose the size that matches; if you're dead-on between two, default to the larger for casual, the smaller for performance.
Alerts that know your UK size
KicksIndia Pro only pings you when a pair hits your size at an Indian retailer. No "sold out in my size anyway" emails. See pricing.
FAQ
Is CM more reliable than UK or US?
Yes. Centimetres measure the last (the shoe mold) directly. The UK/US numbers are translations. Where a retailer lists CM (ASICS and Onitsuka frequently do), trust it.
How do I measure my foot correctly?
Stand on a sheet of A4 paper, heel against a wall, weight evenly on both feet, and mark the tip of your longest toe. Measure heel-to-mark in centimetres. Do both feet and use the longer one.
Why do Dunks run long?
Nike's original Dunk last was built on a basketball toe-box that intentionally had space for an athletic sock. The lifestyle reissue kept the same last, which is why a silhouette designed in 1985 still wears half-size long in 2026.
